The Key to my Journal

I though I was done with this journal but something was just nagging at me. Then it dawned on me that if you have a lock you need a key. So I made an old fashion antique skeleton key and placed it in the middle of my journal. I didn't think I was going to add any more embellishments but the key just sort of fit...no pun intended...lol... So what do you think?

Journal with Trunk Lock SVG

After making my hinges the last posting I decided something was missing. Well my husband come into my Arthaven and seen my card (last post) and said it looked like a trunk. Well that is when I realized that all trunks have locks on them so I made an old fashion trunk lock.

This is a journal I made to look like a trunk. I used a composition book. I did the binding with copper and black embossing powder just as I did the hinges and lock. (See post below for instructions). I didn't add any more embellishments because I felt that the floral paper along with the copper toned accessories was all that it needed. On the inside of the cover though I will decorate it and put a tag on it that says " This Journal Belongs To....).

Journal for my Daughter's BDay

My daughter just turned 25 today or as she says, a quarter of a centry old....Gosh what does that make me? Anyhow I made her this journal and a card that I posted a while back but I am showing again in this post. I also bought her a few other items. She was thrilled and had a great Bday today.

Seashell Card & Journal Set

I created this card using real sand and seashells.

How I made it....First I used 2 different color blue cardstock. The light color is the main card and the dark blue is just a strip of paper to resemble water. I used my cuttlebug to emboss both the card and the dark blue strip of paper then I adhered them together. To make the sand I mixed my sand with Mod Podge in a small container then I smeared the mixure (mixture should by thick) on my card. I then put a small amount of glue on my seashells and tucked them in the sand just like you would sea them at a real beach. I used a heat gun to dry the sand quickly or it will warp the card due to the amount of moisture in the mixture. ENJOY!!!

Journal for my husband

I created this journal for my husband. He is a Ham Radio operator and keeps a log of all the people he contacts. The horizontal letters and number on the journal is his Ham Radio Call Sign.

This was very easy to make. I used two different pattern papers. A piece of ribbon and some punch outs that came in the book of paper. I arranged everything the way I wanted it and then glued them on the cover of a composition book (.70 cents at Wally World) and then I used some black distress ink on the edges. My First Journal

I made this journal for a swap. It's the first one I have ever done. I took an ordinary journal and painted the front and back. For the inside I covered it using decorative paper. I decorated the front with tags cut with my Cricut and embossed using Cuttlebug. The flower pattern I got from http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com/ I painted the petals and used a brad for the center. I then placed ribbon with buttons on the side.
